Polyelectrolyte Day Tank

A typical Polyelectrolyte Day Tank or Polymer mixing / day / storage tanks typically range in size from 500 litres 5,000 litres, however dependent upon the plant’s requirements these tanks can be as small as 50 litres or up to 20,000 litres.  A typical Polyelectrolyte Day Tank will have a mixer on top, with a typical mix speed of 350 rpm, and vertical plastic tanks are seen as a cost-effective option as it is relatively economical to add tanks to the system if required.

What are Polyelectrolytes?

Polyelectrolytes are polymers which bear an electrolyte group such as polycations and polyanions.   These dissociate in aqueous solutions (water), which in turn makes the polymers charged. The properties of polyelectrolyte are similar to both electrolytes (salts) and polymers (high molecular weight compounds) and their solutions are electrically conductive and often viscous.

Typical Polyelectrolyte Day Tank Features

  • 1.5 SG rated vertical tank with mixer support frame on tanks over 1500 litres
  • Centre mounted mixer with internal baffles on tanks over 1500 litres.
  • 230-volt mixer with 316 stainless steel wetted parts
  • Hydrofoil mixer creating lower shear which maximises efficiency

Day Tanks & Bunds

Enduramaxx’s day tanks and bunds are available for systems requiring mixer tanks from 50 litres to 1500 litres.  These tanks are available with bunds for where the tanks aren’t in a bunded area. These moulded PE dosing tanks are specifically designed for use within the water treatment with mixer mounting area on top of the tank.

Enduramaxx Vertical & Conical Tanks

Enduramaxx’s vertical moulded MDPE tanks are available in sizes from 50 litres to 30,000 litres as single wall tanks with a range of mixer mounting frames for mounting agitators.  These vertical tanks are available with translucent walls to see the level in the tank.

Enduramaxx’s conical cone tanks which are moulded from virgin PE material are available with shallow cones to aid mixing and draining of the tank.  Optional mixer mounting frames, hinged lids and pipework options are available – please call to discuss your next Polyelectrolyte Day Tank project.
