What is a baffled water tank? A water tank with baffles to ensure the minimum amount of water movement when travelling using baffles.  Baffled water tanks are an ideal solution for anyone transporting water around by vehicles as the baffles minimise the water movement in the tank when it’s being transported in a van, pick up or on a trailer.  These tanks designed for window cleaners as these window cleaning water tanks be used as part of a water-fed pole or window cleaning system.  These are also used as car valeting water tanks or for water tanks for pressure washers or for anyone who requires a water storage tank for safely transporting water or other liquids.

What is a baffle in a water tank?

A baffle is a mans of preventing the surge or sloshing of water in a tank when moving.  There are different designs of baffling including grooves/holes that go right through the tank, internal baffle plates in a tank or with an additional baffling system such as baffle balls.  In our slimline baffled water tanks, these are designed with grooves/holes in the tank which prevent surging in the tank when it is 1/2 to 3/4 full adding stability.

What size baffled water tanks are available?

Baffled water tanks are available in 400, 500, 800, and 1000 litres as rectangular design – upright, flat or horizontal.  Larger baffled water tank is available in our horizontal transport tank design – 500, 700, 1200, 1500, 2000 and 3000 litres.

How heavy is water in a tank?

Water in a tank will weigh as follows 1 litre of water is 1 kg – so care should be taken not to overload the vehicle with a tank which is too heavy.  Each vehicle has a weight limit for the weight it can carry so you will need to include the weight of other equipment you will be carrying.  Water tank in a vehicle can add 100’s of kilos to the weight so will affect fuel consumption and handling when driving.

Are potable drinking water tanks available?

Yes, our water tanks are made from potable, WRAS approved MDPE plastic in black, natural and blue.

How do I mount the tank to my vehicle?

It is recommended that these tanks are mounted in a frame to the vehicle bed to stop the tank from moving.

What size outlets are available?

As standard these tanks are fitted with a 1.5″ male BSP plastic outlet.  These are available in other materials such as brass or stainless steel if required and can be larger or smaller if requried.

Can I have additional outlets fitted?

Yes, addition outlets can be fitted, these are generally butt fusion welded to the tank and available in a range of sizes, from 1/2 to 2″ BSP sizes.

How thick are the tank walls?

Our baffled tanks have a nominal wall thickness of 6-7 mm.

Is the lid vented?

For standard water tanks these lids are vented, for potable drinking water tanks these are non vented.

Can I have a bespoke size baffled water tank?

Enduramaxx can supply bespoke water tanks fabricated from PE or PP depending on the size and contents to be stored.  Fabricated tanks have endless possibilities to suit footprint or restrictions and welcome any enquiry.  We already have an enormous range of off-the-shelf moulded tanks so would be worth checking our range of tanks online as well as we can quite often supply a moulded tank which is very close to your requirements from our “off the shelf” range.

Can these tanks store chemicals?

MDPE can be used to store chemicals, however, we recommend that the chemical compatibility is checked with the material and the outlet material before purchasing.
